What She Made

Hello and Welcome to my first "What She Made" post. These posts will be to show off my 6 yr old daughter's (Ellie) Art Journal.

A little about Ellie.. She is 6 yrs old, birthday is in July, the oldest of three and she loves being in the craft room with me. She usually likes to play around on paper and thats when I decided to get her own little book to start keeping her arts in.

Here are her first three pages.

This is her cover page. She used Distress inks (Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed). She then splattered water all over the page. Next She used a Heidi Swapp mini stencil (the circles) and black water color paint. She then used the Zigway glue pen and next sprinkled on some glitter. She finished off this page with a few Doodlebug sequins from the Rainbow set.

These two pages are near and dear to the both of us. This past weekend our little dog, Lala, went missing. We live in high coyote county, but are still holding out hope that she will return. I just told Ellie on Tuesday night and it was the hardest thing for me to have to do. She is so up set. She asked if I had any pictures she could have of Lala. I told her I could print them for her. So I printed a stack of pictures and she picked these two for her pages..

The first thing I did on the pages was lay down a thin layer of acrylic white paint, just to help seal in the colors and keep them from bleeding into the other pages. She then used Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feather and Mustard Seed) to fill in the backgrounds. Then used a Heidi Swapp mini stencil (the little arrows) and black ink (sorry, cant remember if it was Momento or StazOn). Next she used a heart stamp and embossing ink, followed by some embossing powder (Cant remember the brand but the color is "Snow"). She used the same heart stamp and stamped a few hearts with Distress Ink (Barn Door). We made the banner, and added a couple more sentiments to the pages. She finished the pages up by adding a few sticky rhinestones and flourishes.

It breaks my heart to look at these pages, but Im glad she will forever have them!

Thank you for stopping by. Come back next week for my Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, as well as another What She Made!

We Will Always Be Friends

 Hello and welcome back!

Here is my entry card for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This last weeks challenge was to use add a little texture.

Sorry, this week I do not have a complete list of supplies used, its been a crazy weekend followed by a sad start to the week and my supply list is not in my hands at the moment. If you have questions, leave me a comment and I can answer you.

I started out by using a Heidi Swapp mini stencil, the chevron and using Distress ink in Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers, alternating between the colors. I then used my Zigway glue and covered it with Ranger Embossing Powder- Holographic to fill in the the white chevron lines (texture #1).
The little turtle and fish are from the Recollections Stamp set "Ocean Friends." I stamped them in Momento Ink "Tuxedo Black". I then colored them in using Copic RV00, RV52, RV55, YR20, YR22, YR23, G40, G43, G46.
I added Glossy Accents to the turtle shell (texture #2). I mounted both the turtle and fish on little foam squares. Next I stamped my sentiment "We'll Always Be Friends" onto a white card stock strip , cut one end to look like a banner and also used mounting foam to adhere it to the card, I added a couple red heart sequins.
Lastly, I used some red and white bakers twine I got from Michael's $1 section and finished it with a little bow.

I think it turned out pretty cute. It would be a good card for friends who might be moving away.

Thanks again for stopping by! Come back soon for new posts!!

I'm So Proud Of You!

I started this card out by stamping my cute little raccoon fella onto some white card stock. I then colored him in using Tan, Brown and Gray colored pencils. I fussy cut him out and then applied a little bit of Wink of Stella in clear on him. I then stamped the Im So Proud of You stamp onto a striped card from a Me and My Big Ideas Pocket Page Themed card sets. (Sorry, I cant remember with pack) I filled in the shadow of the stamp with the same Gray colored pencil I used on the raccoon, went over it with the Wink of Stella clear pen and finished it off with Glossy Accents. I used some "enamel dots" I made by melting pony beads. I mounted the striped card to a pink card stock and then mounting that to a white Recollections 4x5.5 Value Card. I mounted the raccoon with foam squares. I thought it looked like it was missing something so I gave him a speech bubble. I hand drew and cut the bubble out and then stamped on it using a letter set from Hero Arts.

Supply List:

The challenge I am entering this card into is the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "All Critters Great and Small"
